Guildford Castle Gardens Bandstand, 15th May 2022
Band members made the journey to Guildford in the pouring rain, so we were all very pleased to discover that the rain eased off in time for us to perform during the afternoon. We all squeezed onto the bandstand to make sure we stayed dry. Our hardy audience stayed with us even when the showers returned, and were treated to a selection of music including Out of Africa, Instant Concert, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the music from Mamma Mia.

Spring Concert
Spring Concert: Travel The World, 19th March 2022
We returned to St Mary's Church in Burghfield for our Spring Concert, taking our audience on a trip around the world, with a slight bias towards Ireland to celebrate St Patrick's Day. Our music was a mix of styles, including the tone poem, Finlandia, with its rousing start and beautiful hymn section, the exciting Pirates of the Caribbean, the more gentle tones of Irish Tune from County Derry, and finishing the concert with Riverdance.

SBCB Christmas Concert 2022
Christmas Concert: 4th December 2021
We were very happy to be able to offer some additional tickets for our Christmas Concert in Burghfield and bring some much needed festive cheer to everyone attending. We played Christmas favourites including Christmas Festival, Troika and Sleigh Ride, and added in some newer pieces like A Winter's Night (which included some singing from the band), Variations on In Dulci Jubilo, and With Clouds Descending. Recordings of some of these pieces are now available on our YouTube channel - take a look at our Recordings page to see them.

Autumn Concert: Live Music is Back! 15th October 2021
After a wait of almost 2 years since our last indoor concert, we were excited to perform again in the beautiful St Mary's Church in Burghfield. The audience were treated to a varied programme including film music from Beauty and the Beast, the evocative & atmospheric music of Eric Whitacre's October, and an exciting piece called Forged in Fire, featuring the trumpets and horns.

Henley
Two more bandstand performances
On Saturday August 7th we joined the riverside visitors in a busy Henley and played on the bandstand to an appreciative audience. We were lucky with the weather as it didn't rain while we were playing, so people could stop to listen. The only shower was in our 'ice cream' break in the middle! Highlights which were much enjoyed were our Selections from Les Miserables, The Greatest Showman and Beauty and the Beast.

We travelled to Brighton on Sunday August 22nd for a hot and mostly sunny afternoon on the Victorian bandstand, playing to an audience of people who were passing along the seafront and many stopping to listen. Mobile phone cameras were frequently pointed in our direction, taking photos and video recordings of the music they were enjoying. It was wonderful to be part of a typical seaside scene and add to the holiday atmosphere.

SBCB performance at Alton Town Gardens
First performances of 2021
After a year without performing, we began with 2 outdoor bandstand-style events. On July 17th we were at Alton Town Gardens (pictured) as part of an larger event with Morris Dancers, story times, and lots of market stalls. We then went to Basingstoke's Eastrop Park on 1st August, luckily avoiding most of the showers.
